Light Therapy
Light therapy accelerates the healing process by a cascade of cellular events. When the photons of light penetrate the skin and underlying tissue, they are absorbed by the cell, and converted into energy, increasing cellular metabolism and cell replication. The cells and tissue use this energy to repair and heal. Light therapy promotes wound care and tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and controls pain. Conditions that respond very well to light therapy include: arthritis/rheumatism, tendonitis, repetitive stress injuries, tennis/golfer’s elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck/back pain, soft tissue injuries, superficial wounds, strains/sprains, and migraine headaches.
